Instructions
for Completing the Application to Provide Education
These instructions provide information relating to the approval
of entry-level or continuing education course offerings.
A course offering approval is required pursuant to ORS 59.977. The
applicant is responsible for compliance with all MLEB requirements.
(see enclosed course approval rules)
Items to be included in your package:
Course Fee
The fee is $100 per credit hour. The course fee is non-refundable and must be received
before the application will be processed.

Time Frame for MLEB to Review Your Course
A completed application must be submitted to the MLEB not less than
90 days before the proposed commencement date of the course offering.
Course offerings may not be promoted as being MLEB approved until
actual approval is issued.
Incomplete applications will delay your approval. MLEB will
advise you of missing documents.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Any entity which offers courses or examinations related to
licensing for professional purposes must offer such courses or
examination in a place and manner accessible to all persons, or offer
alternative but equal arrangements. This may include the provision of
auxiliary aids and services for persons with disabilities. For more
information, contact your Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Advertising
No advertising or promotional material for any entry-level or continuing education
offering shall include false or misleading statements or
representations. (See "Advertising and Promotional
Material")
Identification and Attendance Control
The Course Provider shall assure that the student is physically
present during the course offering in order to determine that the
student's performance warrants credit. Require sign in at start of
seminar and sign out at the end of seminar to receive certificate.
Credit Hours (Clock Hours)
Online or webcast clock hour means 60 minutes actually spent in any
combination of presenting course content, seminar, conference
discussions or workshop activity. Exams are not included in the
credit hours and are to be in addition to the required hours.
Live classroom clock hour means 50 minutes actually spent in any
combination of presenting course content, seminar, conference
discussions or workshop activity. Exams are not included in the
credit hours and are to be in addition to the required hours.
MLEB Disclaimer Statement
The statement below must be contained in all promotional materials
for MLEB approved courses: (also see "Advertising and Promotional
Material")
This course is approved for (fill in either entry-level or
continuing education) number of credit hours by the Oregon Mortgage Lending Education Board (MLEB). However, this approval does
not constitute an endorsement of the views or opinions which are
expressed by the course sponsor, instructor, authors or lecturers.
A sample of all promotional materials which include this statement must
be provided with the application.
Advertising and Promotional Material
Any advertisement or promotional material of classes, whether by e-mail, website, mail, fax
or any other method must have the OregonMLEB approved course number
included.
